What Type of Hangers Should I Get?

There are a million different types of hangers out there. All of them claim to save space and better organize your closet, but is that true? How do you know which ones will save space and which ones will just be a hassel? Check out this post with my thoughts on different types of hangers.

#1 Pants Hanger- Don’t Recommend

These look nice and organized, but they are not functional. It is difficult to put the pair of pants back on the hanger, leaving you frustrated and unmotivated to hang your pants back up. In my opinion, it is not worth saving a little bit of space if your pants end up in a pile on the floor.

#2 – Pants Hanger- Recommend

This has the same space hanging concept as the last one, but it has a feature for easy access and put away. You pants can be stored vertically, but when you go to grab a pair, you simply hang the other side up so that you can easily grab one pair.

#3 Wood Shirt Hangers- Don’t Recommend

Because of the angle of these hangers and the material, clothes will easily slip off. They are cute, but the frustration of constantly rehanging clothes on the floor is not worth it.

#4 Velvet Shirt Hangers- Recommend

Personally, I like felt hangers the best. Nothing slips off of them and they are thin, which saves a lot of space. The thickness of hangers doesn’t seem like it would make a big difference, but I switched from the rounded plastic hangers to these and it drastically decreased the space taken up in my closet. Plus, there are so many cute colors out there!

#5 Leggings Hangers- Don’t Recommend

Since leggings are often made from spandex, they usually slip off of these types of hangers. It is also difficult to grab the pair of leggings that you need without pulling off others.

#6 Leggings Hanger- Recommend

Instead try this! You don’t have to fold or roll your leggings! All you have to do is clip them on! I love that you can grab one pair at a time without having to pull off another pair. If you want a sustainable solution to store your leggings, check this hanger out!

#7 Tank Top Hanger- Don’t Recommend

These hangers do save a lot of space, but they are not practicle. It is very hard to grab the shirt you want and takes a lot of time to put them away. Most people quickly give up on using these types of hangers, because they simply are not functional.

#8 Space Saving Hangers- Don’t Recommend

While these hangers seem great to save space, getting clothing from the middle or top can be challenging. They look messy since the hook on each hanger is so low.

#9 Space Saving Hangers- Recommend

Personally, I perfer to have all of my clothes on individual hangers on the rod, but if you need to save space, this one is great! Similar to the pants hanger I talked about earlier, you can store your clothes vertically and then when you go to grab something, you simply hang the other side up so that you can easily grab the item you are looking for.

#10 Pants Hangers- Don’t Recommend

Since the clips on these hangers are so strong, they leave crease marks on anything hung on them.

#11 Pants Hangers- Don’t Recommend

Although these hangers look good, they are difficult to put pants in them. It requires the use of both hands, so you have to lay your pants down on a surface, open up the clip, put the pants in, and then close the clip while making sure there are no wrinkles in the clip or it will leave creases. It takes a lot of time to put clothes away with these hangers.

#12 Pants Hangers- Recommend

This hanger makes it easy to get the pair of pants you need as well as quickly put them away. The rounded pole also keeps your clothing from getting a crease line from the hanger.

#13 Belt/Tie Hanger- Don’t Recommend

This hanger makes it hard to grab the belt or tie that you want. What if you want the belt in the back? You have to take off all of the other belts, grab the one that you want, and then put them all back on. It is not a very functional hanger.

#12 Belt/Tie Hanger- Recommend

This hanger makes it easy to grab the belt that you want and it slim, so it doesn’t take up a lot of space in your closet. Plus, it looks cute!
